A child dies every 45 seconds from malaria - and an incredible organization, Malaria No More, has a mission to end malaria in Africa by 2015.
And it all starts with a book.
62 thought leaders have joined together to create a book to End Malaria. They have written essays around the topic Great Work - on how to do the stuff that matters, and less of the stuff that doesn't. The book is divided into eight key areas of insight, including: Create Freedom, Disrupt Normal, and Take Small Steps.
Authors include Tom Peters, Gary Vaynerchuk, Sir Ken Robinson, Brene Brown, David Allen, Seth Godin, Sally Hogshead, and Mitch Joel. It's produced by the Domino Project, in collaboration with Box of Crayons.
Excerpts:
“There is another stage beyond doing things well and with love.” Kevin Kelly
“Other people do significant pieces of the thick slice doled out to me.” Roger Martin
"In my experience, many people settle for too little." Sir Ken Robinson
“We seek to substitute rules for discretion, scripts for imagination.” Barry Schwartz
“It’s necessary to ‘positively disrupt’ rhythms and routines.” Rich Fernandez, Google
“Wanting to do two non-compatible things has a name. It’s called stress.” Seth Godin
"Make a two-step plan: think about it and do something about it." Chris Guillebeau
“Encouraging people to be curious and be present and extraordinary things can happen.” Sally Bonneywell, GSK
The book costs $25 - 100% of the Kindle price, and 80% of the hard copy price go directly to Malaria No More. The contributors, publishing house, and Amazon are taking NO money for this - it's all philanthropic.
The $20 from each book sends a mosquito net to a family in need and supports life-saving work in the fight against malaria.
