Imagine uprooting yourself from everything that is important to you. Taking yourself thousands of miles away from home and dropping yourself in a place that you feel is better for your future than where you were before. It doesn’t sound so daunting with all the technology today, but imagine being across oceans from those who are most important to you.
That is the reality of the American Dream, and it is a topic that gets glorified across the world.
Greece is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world. Picturesque coastlines, beautifully colored waters, delicious food, and a multitude of tourist attractions constantly attract crowds of holidaymakers to this country. It is also impossible not to mention the Greek beaches, which are considered among the most beautiful not only in Europe, but also in the world.
Knowing yourself is one thing, but actually understanding how other people function is significantly more challenging. You know your personal thoughts, but getting a grasp of those of others and how they drive their thinking is much harder.
When you think of money, a list forms: the rent, the groceries, the gas bill, the power bill, the Wi-Fi bill, the cell phone bill, the water bill, and so on. The list can, in some people’s circumstances, become endless. There are daily financial stressors that can have a trickling effect on your life. The way a stream has water trickling down to the river, you have daily stressors that all trickle down into one thing.
Music for Shifting Times: that is what we decided to all this series when we began it back almost eight years ago at this writing.

Need for connection and community have remained constant across these years; so has the role of music in making these connections possible.
