I'm so pleased today to share our third Profile in International Education, Brian Whalen. Brian's been a key player in international education, especially in Study Abroad, for over 20 years. He co-founded Frontiers: The Interdisciplinary Journal of Study Abroad, and has been instrumental in working with the Forum on Education Abroad. He is Dean, Associate Professor of International Studies and Associate Provost and Executive Director of the Office of Global Education at Dickinson College.

Cannery Pier Hotel, in the charming northern Oregon coastal town of Astoria, is truly unique. Built on the site of the former Union Fish Cannery – in fact on the original 100-year-old pilings – the hotel offers guests unparalleled views of a real working river, as well as views of the shipping lanes out to Cape Disappointment Lighthouse and nearby Washington.
I’ve got a fantastic photographer to share with you this month. Our November Photographer of the Month is Jessica Lehrman. She spent part of this summer in India, volunteering at an orphanage. She’s a student at SUNY Purchase, a world traveler, and an extraordinary photographer.
Jakhu is the highest peak in Shimla. You cannot avoid it even if you want to. The ridge of Shimla town starts from the western shoulder of Jakhu and extends towards west.
