This weekend we went to TBEX 09 - Travel Blog Exchange's conference for travel bloggers and writers. Held in Chicago after BlogHer, it was attended by over 100 travel writers (many of whom we've featured here on Wandering Educators, and many more whom we WILL feature soon!). We learned a great deal from both the panels and from everyone we met.  It is inspiring and energizing to meet with your community, especially when our community (travel bloggers) are spread across the globe.

As a traveler with disabilities, I am well-aware of the challenges of traveling - and the great rewards! There are many more things to think of as a traveler with disabilities - access, transportation, cultural views of disability, and more. I am always learning the hard way, it seems, about both written and unspoken rules of disability travel, 22 years after my accident!

Heading to Edinburgh this month? There will be a REALLY cool event by the Edinburgh College of Art, entitled MILESTONE live stone carving throughout the Edinburgh Art Festival.  Related exhibition: 1 – 30 August 2009. Further details below.
